Roxanne Thompson, Founder, Director 

I started singing in choirs at 5 years old in my church I northeastern Oklahoma. Through Jr high and high school, I played flute in concert band, marching band and orchestra. I spent a year at the University of Arkansas as a flute major and played in the Marching Razorback band.

In the past 30 years I have sung in several community choirs and ensembles as well as Too Hot To Handel with the Colorado Symphony for many years.

In 2006, I founded Inner Voices as a small group of women who love to sing together. Over the years, there have been a couple of reiterations that have grown into the Inner Voices of today. There is nothing that touches my soul, like singing with others.

Emily Martin, Assistant Director 

I earned my bachelor's degree in Vocal and Instrumental Music Education, K-12, from Adams State College. I spent 35 years teaching general and vocal music at all levels, concluding my career with 16 years at Louisville Middle School in Boulder Valley Schools.

Throughout my career as a music educator, I served on the Middle School Repertoire and Standards Chair on the Colorado ACDA board, am a founding member of the Colorado Middle School All State Choir, and received the Jared Polis Award in April 2010 after being nominated by my student at Louisville Middle School. I have also worked as a clinician and adjudicator for St. Vrain Valley Schools Middle School Honor Choir, ACDA Middle Level Choral Festival, and served as a CHSSA judge for piano and vocal ensembles.

When I'm not involved with music, you will find me walking my dogs Bix and Basie, traveling (my favorite place is New Mexico), or hanging out with my grandson.

Tami Meise, Accompanist and Co-Director

I started accompanying community and professional choirs at age 13, and have been in love with choral music ever since. I have performed at Boettcher Concert Hall and the Buell Theater with groups such as Canto Spiritus and The Spirituals Project, and have performed with Inner Voices since 2022.

My hobbies include composing, arranging, and recording in genres from pop and jazz to classical. I currently enjoy a full teaching studio with students ranging from age 6 to 76.
